Overview

Post-abortion care is provided to a woman who has had an unsafe abortion, a spontaneous abortion, or a legally induced abortion. It comprises various components such as emergency treatment of complications from a spontaneous or unsafe induced abortion, family planning and counseling services, counseling access to comprehensive reproductive health care, and treatment for STI, RIT, and HIV/AIDS. It is critical to initially address the immediate situation, which includes dealing with blood, shock, and discomfort. Once the woman in all of these cases is stable, it is critical to provide necessary follow-up care such as pain management, psychological support, post counseling, and recommendations for additional therapy and tests.

A woman who has had an unsafe abortion, spontaneous abortion, or legally induced abortion receives post-abortion treatment. It is made up of the following parts:

  1. Complications of a spontaneous or hazardous induced abortion require immediate treatment.
  2. Services for family planning and counseling
  3. Access to comprehensive reproductive health care, including STI, RIT, and HIV/AIDS screening and treatment
  4. Education in the community to promote reproductive health and reduce the need for abortion.

  1. Client-provider contact and counseling
  2. Service quality given
  3. Services for post-abortion contraception and family planning
  4. Services for reproduction and other aspects of health
  5. Collaboration between community and other service providers, as well as mobilization of community resources
  6. Unwanted pregnancy and unsafe abortion prevention

Management of PAC (Post Abortion Care)

It is critical to initially treat the immediate situation, such as dealing with blood, shock, and pain. Once the woman in all of these scenarios is stable, it is critical to give necessary follow-up care such as pain management, psychological support, post-abortion counseling, and recommendations for additional therapy and tests.
