Human behavior includes all of our actions, routines, proclivities, preferences, tensions, and intellectual reactions such as life perception, thinking, remembering, reasoning, and willingness. It is impossible to separate a person's current surroundings from how they are acting at any given moment. Human behavior clearly varies depending on one's stage of life, circumstances, and physical and social settings.
The following variables influence a person's behavior:
Bio-chemical and Neuroanatomical Factors
Various neurotransmitters, as well as, brain functions are proposed for variety of behavioural manifestations. It's been stated that three brain functions are proposed for variety of behavioral manifestations:
Likely, in biochemical, various neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, nor-epinephrine, gamma amino butyric acid (GABA) etc. are directly responsible for the maintenance of person's behavior, thought and mood.
Some hormones are also appeared as a mediator in emotional reactions:-
- Sexual behavior
- Sadness/happiness Controlled by hormones secreted through adrenal gland
- Anger/aggression
Mental characteristics like intelligence, special ability, talent etc. can pass on from the parent to offspring due to chromosomal factors.
One's behavioral patterns are also influenced by social influences. The importance of socialization in shaping one's conduct has been highlighted heavily. The influence of social expectations, early social experiences both inside and outside of the home, social deprivation, social acceptance, the leadership and follower roles, acceptance and rejection of the culturally acceptable gender roles, etc. are all significant behavioral determinants that have an impact on a person's ability to adjust in both their personal and social lives.
These include motive, interest, attitude, will-power, intelligence, reasoning capacities, perception, imagination etc. These factors determine our reaction towards various situations and thus affect our behavior.
These are responsible for some of our peculiar behaviors that w cannot explain in terms of satisfying mere physiological needs social motives. These are highly individualized and these give a kind of uniqueness in human behavior.
