Overview

The liver is inflamed by hepatitis. It could be brought on by either bacteria, a poisonous agent, or a chemical (including drug). The liver is frequently painful and develops jaundice. There are several different forms of hepatitis, such as hepatitis A, B, C, D, E, and G. The symptoms of jaundice include lethargy, irritability, myalgia, fever, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, pruritus, anemia, and clay-colored stools, among others. Medical management includes rest, a healthy diet, emotional support, and treatment for itching. dietary control eat a diet high in calories and carbohydrates with some protein.

Types:

  • Toxic hepatitis:

 Clinical manifestation

  • Indication of jaundice.
  • Clay colored stool
  • Increased serum bilirubin
  • Darkened urine.

Medical management:

  • Rest, proper diets, emotional support, treatment of pruritus,
  • Pharmacological management:
  • Symptomatic treatment
  • Antiemetic for nausea and vomiting.
  • Cholestyramine and ursodiol for pruritus.

Dietary management

  • Eat a diet high in calories and carbohydrates with some protein.

Nursing diagnosis:

  • Fatigue-related intolerance to physical activity.
  • Physical immobility brought on by extended bed rest.
  • Tissue integrity problems caused by itch.
  • Altered nutrition falls short of what the body needs.
