Overview

A benign lung tumor is an unneeded and non-cancerous abnormal growth of tissue that is brought on by symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, dyspnea, and so on.

Nursing Management

  • Analyze your breathing and coughing.
  • Breathing exercises for breathlessness.
  • Watch the ABG.
  • Fowler's place.
  • Administer a bronchodilator and corticosteroid.

Lung Tumor

A benign lung tumor is an unneeded abnormal growth of tissue that has been determined to be cancer-free. Benign lung tumors can develop from a variety of different lung structures.

Cause

  • Wheezing.
  • Coughing up blood or having a persistent cough
  • Respiration difficulty.
  • Fever, particularly if there is pneumonia.

Nursing Diagnosis

  • A blood test.
  • Skin test for tuberculin to check for TB.
  • PET scan, or positron emission tomography.
  • CT using a single photon (SPECT).
  • imaging with magnetic resonance (in rare cases).
  • To determine if the tumor is benign or malignant, a biopsy, tissue excision, and microscopic analysis are required.

Nursing Management

  • Analyze your breathing and coughing.
  • Breathing exercises for breathlessness.
  • Watch the ABG.
  • Fowler's place.
  • Administer a bronchodilator and corticosteroid.
  • Routine suctioning.
  • Observe the sputum's color and consistency.
  • Encourage drinking of water.
  • Therapy for the chest.
  • Reposition yourself frequently.
  • There should be enough time for rest.
