Overview

Dryness of the cornea is known as corneal xerosis. X3A: Keratomalacia, or corneal ulceration, affects 1/3 of the cornea. Xeropthalmia, immunosuppression, corneal damage, and other factors are the main causes of corneal xerosis. Itchy eyes, watery eyes, red or pink eyes, eye inflammation, and other symptoms are signs of corneal xerosis. administration of topical antibiotics on a regular basis, whether or not initial cultures are performed, along with antifungal or antiviral eye medicine, to address the underlying issue

Corneal xerosis

Causes

  • Red eye
  • Painful
  • Mild to severe eye discharge
  • Reduced vision
  • Eye injury
  • Contact lenses

Symptoms

  • Itchy eye
  • Watery eye
  • Red or pink eye
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Eye inflammation

 

Treatment

  • A quick trip to the eye doctor
  • Topical antibiotics are frequently used, with or without first cultures.
  • Eye medicine with antifungal or antiviral properties to address the underlying issue.
  • Try not to wear contact lenses.
  • Skip the makeup
  • Avoid rubbing your eyes excessively.
