Overview

The outer enamel of the tooth can be destroyed by dental caries, an erosive process. Dental caries' primary causes are dental plaque and diet, and clinical symptoms include discomfort and sensitivity to cold and heat. Dental caries are managed by preventing them, injecting fluoride into the water supply, applying topical fluoride, and promoting frequent brushing and rinsing.
