Overview

NSI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving rural healthcare in Nepal by training competent healthcare professionals. In 2006, NSI applied for registration with the Nepali government. Its headquarters are in Jhamsilhel, Lalitpur, and NSI employees work to provide facilities training and support programs through ten partners' healthcare institutions spread across over Nepal. The goal of NSI is to prepare and aid trained, sympathetic health care professionals for rural Nepal. Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN) was founded in 1959; it joined the international planned parenthood federation as an associate member in 1960 and as a full member in 1969. According to FPAN, modest families should be the norm for rural residents. Focus of the FPAN initiative is to complement and supplement the national health system.

  • Monitoring and evaluation:
    • Assess NSI program areas and conduct research on rural health care workers.

Family Planning Association of Nepal ( FPAN )

Established in 1959, it joined the International Planned Parenthood Federation as an associate member in 1960 and as a full member in 1969. According to FPAN, modest families should be the norm for rural residents. The national health and population programs are supported and supplemented by the FPAN program. At this time, adolescents, an X workers, labor migrants, and other vulnerable groups are among its target populations.

Strategies

  • By enhancing STI care and enhancing sexual and reproductive health in FPAN operational regions, HIV infection can be decreased.
  • By promoting the rights of all women, we can increase access to gender-sensitive, comprehensive abortion care services and education.

Objectives

  • To give a vulnerable population more access to services that are gender-sensitive and STI/HIV education.
  • To decrease HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination at all levels.
  • To broaden the availability of safe abortion services.
  • To increase dedication to and support for young people's sexual and reproductive health needs and rights.
  • To increase access to a wide range of high-quality services for young people.
