Organogram (Organizational Chart)

An organogram, also known as an organizational chart, is a graphical or pictorial representation of a department that demonstrates its functional and authority relationships. It is an essential tool in the majority of businesses or organizations. It depicts the structure of an organization as well as the relationships between different people, departments, and jobs at various levels within that organization.

• It depicts a primary chain of authority.
• It demonstrates the interaction of numerous roles and relationships.
• It denotes the communication channel.

Organizational Structure and Function of Government of Health Service

The overarching goal of the Department of Health and Human Services (DOHS) is to provide preventive, promotional, and curative health care throughout the country. The Department of Health and Human Services (DOHS) is one of three departments within the Ministry of Health and Population. The ministry of health's organizational structure outlines how different levels of the healthcare system are related to each other in the form of a healthcare network under the DOHS.

The sub-health post is the first point of contact for basic health services, according to the DOHS institutional framework. Each level above the SHPs serves as a referral center in a network that extends from SHPs to HPs to PHCs to district hospitals to regional hospitals to specialty tertiary care centers.

• Sub-health post
  In Nepal, the sub-health post is the primary point of contact for basic health services for the common public. In total, 3,129 sub-health posts have been established at the VDC level. SHP is the lowest level of government and the primary location for the grassroots community-based activity. The following is the basic personnel arrangement of the sub-health post:

  Another type of health care setting is a health post, which is established at the village development committee or municipality level. There are currently 676 HPs in the country. People can receive curative and preventive care at a health post.

• Primary Health care center (PHCC)
  Primary health care is a higher level of health care that was established at the Electrol level. With the current 208 PHCC, a team of the following staff has been providing two emergency and one maternity bed:

• District Public Health Office (DPHO)
  The DPHO is the major agency in charge of regulating all health-related activities at the district level. It is the focal center of Nepal's district health system. The fundamental function of the district health system is to increase efficiency, address inequities, and improve people's health by ensuring equitable access to quality health care services through community involvement and intersectoral collaboration.

  The number of hospitals, PHCCs, HPs, SHPs, and others may fluctuate from year to year. Recently, in the fiscal year 2070/2071, the Ministry of Health and Population improved several SHP and HP, resulting in a greater number of HP and a lower number of SHP than shown in the diagram.

  We only have 54 district hospitals. There are no district hospitals in the DPHO district. DPHO is present in 19 districts.
